Sticks! ... continuing through nice weather and facility availability

FireUp!  ... we've had 31 separate athletes participate in the seven "Sticks" sessions we've had to date.  Collectively, we've conducted more than 125 hours of stick work and we're still 100 days away from our first official practice, February 22nd.  And, we've seen some great take up by athletes who had never held a stick before last week.

Also, we've had three freshmen spend focused time with Coach Flynn in "Goalie 101", getting to know that critical position.  We're very excited about the progress of all three.  And, we want to reconfirm:  the position is open for any non-senior (except Lizzle!) to take on.  There are a variety of skills that make one qualified for the position.  But, the first, by far, is desire.  So, you must self identify for the spot if you want that coaching.  Players who give it a try benefit in ways that make them better both defensively and offensively when playing the field positions.

While the weather is nice and the facility is available, we'll continue these non-required sessions through Wednesday of next week.

Thursday, 12th, 3:30p - 4:30p

Monday, 16th, 3:30p - 5:00p
Tuesday, 17th, 3:30 - 4:30p
Wednesday, 18th, 3:30p - 5:00p

For planning purposes, these "sticks" sessions will NOT go beyond next week.  Our first callout will be in early December.  We'll start a non-required conditioning program in January.  A second callout will occur late January.  Again, our first practice will be February 22nd.  We have a very full Varsity and JV schedule already set.  It will be posted soon.

If you can only come to one or two, come to one or two!  Come late, leave early!  These sessions are "open-field" in nature and have none of the discipline or rigors of an in-season practice.

Also, if there is inclimate weather or its just plain too cold and windy after school, check this space for day-to-day schedule updates.
