Revised PASS Schedule and January Lacrosse Fun Runs

Hey Lacrosse Women!

PASS scheduled for next week on Tuesday January 19 at 3:30-4:30 has been moved to Monday from 11:00 to 12:00 in the high school gym.

January
18              11:00 - 12:00

22, 25, 29   3:30-4:30 in the Auxiliary gym.

February
1, 5, 8, 12, 16(Tuesday), 19, 22, 26    3:30-4:30 in the Auxiliary gym.

This is a GREAT way to get in shape before the season for athletes not participating in a winter sport.  Coach Jaime is an excellent motivator and conditioner for our top athletes.  Those younger or less experienced athletes should feel free to take advantage of this benefit of being in athletics at HCS too.  Don't hesitate to identify yourself as a less developed athlete to Coach Jaime.  She'll help to modify your experience to get the most from these sessions.

--------------------------

And, on the next two Wednesdays, the 20th and 27th, we will conduct "Fun Runs" on the track from 3:30p - 4:15p.  (This schedule is designed to compliment the Monday and Friday PASS sessions.)  These will include a warmup, light stretch, long run, a couple sprints, dynamics, and hard stretch - all in about 45 minutes.  Bring your sticks, mouthgaurds and goggles.  IF it's nice, we'll throw around a little after the runs.  Spread the word!

Call Out: Follow Ups

Great Meeting Monday Night!  ... we accomplished a lot in sizings and numberings and completing player packages.

For those of you who RSVP'd but weren't there, we've sent documents and processing instructions to the your email accounts.

For all who have not turned in the player package or chosen a roster number, we'll be in the High School Commons on FRIDAY (not Thursday as previously communicated) to complete processing.

Turning in a player package now is not a requisite to playing in the Spring.  But, it will insure that your sweats and game day shirt are personalized and here at the beginning of the season.

Sticks! ... continuing through nice weather and facility availability

FireUp!  ... we've had 31 separate athletes participate in the seven "Sticks" sessions we've had to date.  Collectively, we've conducted more than 125 hours of stick work and we're still 100 days away from our first official practice, February 22nd.  And, we've seen some great take up by athletes who had never held a stick before last week.

Also, we've had three freshmen spend focused time with Coach Flynn in "Goalie 101", getting to know that critical position.  We're very excited about the progress of all three.  And, we want to reconfirm:  the position is open for any non-senior (except Lizzle!) to take on.  There are a variety of skills that make one qualified for the position.  But, the first, by far, is desire.  So, you must self identify for the spot if you want that coaching.  Players who give it a try benefit in ways that make them better both defensively and offensively when playing the field positions.

While the weather is nice and the facility is available, we'll continue these non-required sessions through Wednesday of next week.

Thursday, 12th, 3:30p - 4:30p

Monday, 16th, 3:30p - 5:00p
Tuesday, 17th, 3:30 - 4:30p
Wednesday, 18th, 3:30p - 5:00p

For planning purposes, these "sticks" sessions will NOT go beyond next week.  Our first callout will be in early December.  We'll start a non-required conditioning program in January.  A second callout will occur late January.  Again, our first practice will be February 22nd.  We have a very full Varsity and JV schedule already set.  It will be posted soon.

If you can only come to one or two, come to one or two!  Come late, leave early!  These sessions are "open-field" in nature and have none of the discipline or rigors of an in-season practice.

Also, if there is inclimate weather or its just plain too cold and windy after school, check this space for day-to-day schedule updates.

Sticks! ... on the Stadium Field this week after school Tuesday - Thursday

On Tuesday thru Thursday this week, the 3rd thru the 5th, we will be conducting stick drills (and some shooting) on the Stadium Field after school from 3:30p until 4:30p.

Participation is voluntary (and fun) and not required for participation on the team next Spring.

Absolutely no experience or equipment is necessary to participate in these stick exercises. Instruction and equipment will be available for new players. Dress in layers. Past experience shows us that although it is sometimes cold for a few minutes, we warm up quickly.

Also, players interested in trying out for goalie should contact Coach Teeter (CTeeter625@gmail.com) as he will arrange some time for specific instruction with Coach Flynn.

Check this space regularly for future "sticks" dates and changes due to weather.

Fall Ball and Indoor Lacrosse

Greetings All!

I apologize for being so late in getting you information.......but some fall opportunities are upon us.
I am attaching flyers for two "Fall Ball" programs that start this Sunday.  One will be in Carmel (at St. Elizabeth Seton) and the other at Brebeuf High School.  They are great opportunities to develop your Lacrosse skills.  We will have several players participating in the Carmel Fall Ball, but both programs will be very good.

The last attachment is a registration form for Indy Chix Indoor Lacrosse.   Heritage will be fielding a team, and we would love to have your participation.  The indoor session will be a great chance to work on your skills in a game situation.  The games will be held on Thursdays and Fridays at Off the Wall in Carmel.  We will play one game each week......no practices!  I know that some of you will have initial conflicts with other sports (Volleyball, Soccer,Golf etc.).  You are still welcome to participate, we will work hard to get everyone as much playing time as we can.

Denise Wright, who organises the league, would like to have the registration forms in by Sept. 18th.  They should be sent directly to her!  If you are planning on participating in any of these activities, please send me an email!

I am happy to answer any questions you have, so don't hesitate to contact me! (Coach Teeter is out of town for the next two weeks......I should be able to answer any questions you have!)

All of these activities are optional.......We would love to have you participate, but we do realize there are a few other activities that you all are involved in.
